Wilhelm Richard Wagner was a German composer best known for his operas.
The most famous four operas Das Rheingold, Die Walküre, Siegfried and Götterdämmerung form a set known as Der Ring des Nibelungen (‘The Ring of the Nibelung’). They are meant to be performed together over four days. It takes about 15 hours of music.
All the operas above are based on myths. These myths mostly come from Germany, Scandinavia and Iceland.
